1 review of Ghisoni

Ghisoni is a town that is nearly deserted in the winter

Ghisoni is a lovely little village inside Corsica and is surrounded by mountains and vegetation with amazing colors. Take the mountain road in the inside of the island , it's worth it to contemplate and enjoy this place. Ghisoni does not have many people, but in the summer the population doubles with tourism. If visiting at another time of year it is common to find the village deserted, especially from 5pm. The the only sound you hear is the church clock and the sound of water from a river running through the town. The village is small and is made up of a couple of streets that will go to the main square where the church is, which has a bell tower that lights up at night giving a great beauty to the place.

The houses are made of stone and are old but have charm because pots are usually filled with all kinds of flowers. There are several places in town and a bakery cafe where breakfast is great because they serve a delicious freshly baked croissants. One of the things that surprised me is that even though the town is very small, has a fairly large firehouse. The village is not only surrounded by nature, but also within a few parks and beautiful rivers. It is wonderful to walk around the town because we will be able to enjoy a beautiful vegetation. Ghisoni also features a lovely mill which is located next to the river and a tiny timber company in which you can see how they work logs. It is a place that has great charm and conveys peace and tranquility overwhelming.
