1 review of Lakshman Jhula Ghats

An offering at sunset

Almost under the long Laxman Jhula are the ghats or steps that lead to the Ganges. You'll see on the right, just past the bridge behind you if you leave the Sachcha Dham Ashram (which incidentally seen from them). Follow the narrow alleys between hotels and cafes that rise along the river and come to the same bank (or contemplate it from one of these hotels or coffee if you prefer). There, each morning Indian men and women come to make their ablutions in the sacred water. It's sometimes possible to swim there. Late in the afternoon, just after sunset, these ghats a religious celebration where candles and offerings to the Ganga take place.

Its not art like in Parmarth, it actually looks like 'circus touristy'. In one way or another, its worth a browse at Ghats Laxman Jhulaa any time of day, if only for the peace it brings to see the Ganges running steadily but slowly and depends on the day, with many tackles.
