Gate of the Town

If you want to go to Pedraza, you have to go through the Puerta de la Villa. And I don't say this as an order, but it's the only entrance and exit into the town. It's really only a hole in the wall, which used to be the city's only weak point. In the past, at night, the door was closed and no one could enter or leave except for in emergencies when the jailer opened the door. In fact, on the right as you enter is the town jail, where you can still see the dungeon where prisoners were held. It was first built in the 11th century, then rebuilt in the 16th, when the family shield of Fernandez de Velasco (a yellow shield with blue striped square) was included.
