There are many Lisbons

Lisbon is Alfama, Barrio Alto, Fado, trams, cod, Baixa, Belem, longing - but there's also a modern and cosmopolitan Lisbon, like the renowned Nations Field. On the occasion of the Universal Exhibition, at the end of the last century, this area was completely remodeled and now has several prominent buildings. One of them, perhaps the most spectacular, is home to the East Railway Station.

Gare do Oriente, é uma estação rodo-ferroviária situada na zona oriental de Lisboa. Projectado pelo arquitecto espanhol Santiago Calatrava, a Gare do Oriente surgiu com a Expo 98 e ajudou a revitalizar a pobre zona este da capital portuguesa. Serve actualmente todo o Parque das Nações e serve como ponto de partida para se sair de Lisboa rumo a outros locais do país. A estação do Metro está inter-ligada com a rodoviária e a ferroviária.

Gare do Oriente, is a road-rail station located in the eastern part of Lisbon. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the Gare do Oriente came with Expo 98 and helped revitalize the poor east of the Portuguese capital. Currently serves the Park of Nations and serves as a starting point to leave Lisbon towards other parts of the country. The Metro station is inter-connected with road and rail.

Gare do Oriente. Interface de vários transportes nacionais e internacionais. Metro, comboios, autocarros que nos ligam ao aeroporto ali tão perto, são os transportes concentrados no mesmo espaço, arquitectado pelo conceituado arq. Santiago Calatrava, lembram-nos uma floresta de ferro branco, onde passados 20 anos da sua construção, nos tiram o fôlego com os ângulos e planos que conseguimos obter com a câmara fotográfica.

Gare do Oriente. Interface of several national and international transports. Metro, trains, buses that connect us to the airport so close, are the transport concentrated in the same space, architecturally designed by the famous architect. Santiago Calatrava, remind us of a forest of white iron, where after 20 years of its construction, they take our breath with the angles and plans that we get with the camera.

Dá acesso a todo um país belo por via de transportes públicos. Quer terrestres como bus como por comboio tambem. Claro está que para quem quer conhecer Lisboa no seu geral têm o mais conhecido metro há disposição com preços de viagem bem convidativos.
