Street of bikinis
The Gamboa or "Street of Bikinis" is an outdoor mall. Here you'll find 70 stores selling bikinis, gym clothes, and accessories. The idea of this commercial street began in the 50's, when a resident, Nilza Lisboa, started making and selling copies of bikinis from famous actresses. In time Nilza taught other women in the area to sew, and trade grew in the street. If you want to buy a bikini, this is the place to go!
