Region's famous oysters
Galway City is know for its leisure offerings, and its pubs and cafes are very popular in Ireland. Students make up a quarter of the total population and you can see remains of the medieval walls between the shops selling Aran sweaters, handmade rings, and books. The bridges form arches over rivers full of salmon, and a long walk down to the town of Salthill in Galway Bay lets you see the source of the region's famous oysters.
