Lesser known palace
We were able to et to know the importance of this palace, which does not appear in almost any guide book, on the way to the St. George Church. It is the first example of baroque architecture in the region of Mecklenburg-Pomerania. It was originally constructed as the home of the Dukes of the same title and considered the seed of the Renaissance style in the area as it began to introduce elements and techniques which where later applied to the other buildings. An example is the stucco decoration, the ribbed vault and classic Renaissance style inspired pediments. The patio is enormous, fitting of many residences during the time of the Renaissance, but what is striking is the front site and the solid appearance of the building.
