I understand that after the rugged ascent following the indication of "up to the castle" this did not appear, at present, only if kept a wall of 4 m long and 2.5 m wide at the original site of the castle. The remains of the castle towering over Frigiliana of Savin Hill. The factory dates from at least the eleventh century, as recorded in a roadmap of early Moorish kingdom of Granada, according to Jimenez of Arese, chaplain of King Alfonso XI. During the uprising Moorish fortress Moors took shelter from the Alpujarra and the region of Velez. In 1569, Battle of the Rock of Frigiliana, the castle surrendered Luis de Requesens, who commanded derruirlo, using many of the stones of the fortress in the construction of the palace of the Manrique de Lara. While little is left of it, the ascent allows to see spectacular views of the mountains and the river below, and the Mediterranean and people in front, gorgeous.
