Friedhof II der Sophiengemeinde

El Cementerio “Friedhof II der Sohpiengemeinde” se encuentra en la Avenida Bergstraße, muy cerca de la estación de Berlín Nordbahnhof, en la capital alemana. El sitio data del año de 1713, por lo que es considerado como uno de los más antiguos de la zona. Después de que otros panteones llegaran al máximo de su capacidad en las cercanías de la Puerta de Bradenburgo, el gobierno de la ciudad decretó que, a partir de 1806, éstos debían ser construidos fuera de las áreas habitadas de Berlín. Es por tal motivo que el “Friedhof II der Sophiengemeinde” fue uno de los últimos cementerios construidos dentro de los límites urbanos de Berlín. Dentro del cementerio se encuentran los restos de importantes personalidades, como Wihelm Friedrich Erns Bach (nieto de Johann Sebastian Bach), el filósofo Max Stirner, y el político Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz. Si bien el sitio se encuentra un poco alejado del centro de la ciudad, puedes incluirlo como parte de una visita al Monumento al Muro de Berlín, que se encuentra a pocos pasos del lugar.

The "Friedhof II der Sohpiengemeinde" Cemetery is located on Bergstraße Avenue, very close to the Berlin Nordbahnhof station in the German capital. The site dates from the year 1713, so it is considered one of the oldest in the area. After other pantheons reached their maximum capacity in the vicinity of the Bradenburg Gate, the city government decreed that, from 1806, these should be built outside the inhabited areas of Berlin. It is for this reason that the "Friedhof II der Sophiengemeinde" was one of the last cemeteries built within the urban limits of Berlin. Inside the cemetery are the remains of important personalities, such as Wihelm Friedrich Erns Bach (grandson of Johann Sebastian Bach), philosopher Max Stirner, and politician Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz. Although the site is located a bit away from the city center, you can include it as part of a visit to the Berlin Wall Monument, which is located a few steps from the site.
