A beautiful theatre
This is one of the essential things you have to do when you go to Atlanta. Many people will leave it off their list because they think it's only for the locals, but no. The Fox Theatre, built in the 1930s, can accommodate nearly 5,000 people, and has hosted acts from James Brown to the Smashing Pumpkins. But regardless of the show, the theatre is a real spectacle in itself. The marquee lights, the red carpet, the bar, and finally ... the main hall. I swear that you won't find a more beautiful theatre in all the United States. It is divided into three floors, but no matter where you end up, you'll feel very close to the artist.
The walls are decorated like a Roman coliseum, with a starry night painted on the ceiling. Really, I don't have the words to describe it ... just go. You won't regret it.
