Fountain of Victory
The fountain of the palm, which is also called the fountain of victory is in the Chatelet Square (formerly the Grand Chatelet Square, destroyed in 1802 to make way for this). It is in the middle of the 1st and 4th arrondissement of Paris. It brings face to face two major Parisian theaters. Built during the reign of Napoleon by the chief engineer of the time, also responsible for the waters of the city of Paris, François-Jean Brale, between 1806 and 1080. There are various ornaments made of palm leaves, with the inscriptions of the campaigns of Egypt led by Napoleon decorate the column dominating the fountain.
