Galle Fort

La ciudad de Galle está al sur de Sri Lanka, y es un lugar mucho más agradable que la capital, Colombo. Es una antigua ciudad colonial fortificada, que forma parte del patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO. Se descubre fácilmente a pie, en realidad una mañana basta para conocer la ciudad, pero puedes pasar dos o tres días explorando las playas y sitios de interés alrededor. Llegamos en tren desde Colombo, fue bien pero lento, Galle está a 100km de la capital, y el tren tarda como 4 horas, esto cuando no se atrasa, y se suele atrasar bastante. En la estación hay un montón de "guías" que van comisionados por los hoteles y te dirán que el que quieres está cerrado, o lleno... No los creas. Si no tienes opción para dormir todavía, puedes decir a estas personas "quiero un lugar de tal presupuesto" y en general te llevan gratis. Pero puede ser pesado. La ciudad tiene calles peatonales, muy tranquilas, con unas iglesias y fuertes que visitar.
