Fort George
Fort George is a built fortress located 53 meters above the bay of St. George's, the capital of the island of Granada. It offers spectacular views of the harbor, cruise terminal, Grand Anse beach and the city. The fort was built in the XVII century following the French Vauvan construction. Initially called Fort Royal, but in 1763 (when the British took possession of the island) was renamed in honor of King George III. Today it is the pólice HQ, but can be visited and it´s whole perimeter travelled across, where there are multiple gun batteries.
