The Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso forms part of the cultural heritage important in Mexico City. It was declared a heritage site in 1992 and is managed by the UNAM, the National Council for Culture and the Arts and the Government of Mexico City. Since March 1994, the Old College of San Ildefonso became a museum and houses expositions of the Viceroyalty of the Catholic Church and others. Expositions of painting, photography and visual arts. This spot gives the most prestigious cultural expositions in the city and therefor is of vital importance to the city. It attempts to bring culture to the people.
