An unforgettable experience

Excellent

Without a doubt, Formentera is one of the most special beaches I've ever been to, with a symbiosis between the sun and water which is quasi-mystical. Even though the island is small, a week-long vacation ends up feeling too short! The most spectacular places I saw were: the Ses Illetes beach, which looks like a little Caribbean beach in the Mediterranean, is a long beach of fine white sand where the clear blue of the water melts into the horizon. Es Caló des Mort is also especially beautiful, with its intensely turquoise water, red-colored coastline, and exclusivity due to its somewhat being hidden.

Es Caló de Sant Agustí is also gorgeous and full of small, mouth-watering coves of emerald green water. The whole island is protected which makes snorkeling ideal. La Mola has a viewpoint from which you can see the whole island, as well as a "hippie market", lighthouse, and rural walking trails. The Des Mitjorn beachs are clean and the water is blue. Es Pujols is the most cosmopolitan area of the island with the highest density of apartments and restaurants and is near Ses Illetes and Port de la Savina. The lighthouse at Cap de Barbária is, without a doubt, an unforgettable experience, and the "forest" of stones at sunset is amazing. Other places and beaches to see are Cala Saona (very relaxed and family-friendly), Espalmador (near Ses Illetes and connected by a thin stretch of sand), Levante Beach, Las Salinas, Estany Pudent, and Es Arenals. I definitely want to go back but, since it' so small, you need to make a reservation well ahead of time to get a room. Since it's so close to Ibiza, you can always visit on a day trip on one of the daily ferries. Don't miss this "Mediterranean Caribbean!"
