The river that is worth the ride
South of Varenna, one of the most beautiful resorts on Lake Como is the shortest river in Italy, Fiumelatte which has a length of 250 meters and flows only from March to October. What led me to Fiumellate (whose name comes from the milky-white waters of this "short" river) was looking for a good place to get the best view possible of the beautiful town of Varenna. So after visiting the Olivedo botanical garden located both outside the town of Varenna, we decided to continue searching for an ideal location for it following a small path through another magnificent stately home (Villa Monastero) and whose end leads, after a nice Fiumelatte ride, at which point we heard the small stretch of water, river After emerging from the bowels of the earth and enters the lake to die in it.
