    Fall in Love Every Time

On the boat that takes us to Omotepe, to the place we fall more in love with every time. To cross the island and reach Finca Magdalena, the hotel that we chose is at a distance of... 3 hours on the bus! The island is 30 km long! You do not feel like you're on an island, but rather the bottom of a tropical forest, which could be the Mato Grosso in Brazil, that is, the end of the world. An island in the middle of a lake in the middle of Nicaragua, in the middle of Central America, between two gigantic oceans, we are in the middle of nowhere. It was dark when we arrived, after a good hike with backpacks in the mud.

The next day, after a night full of mosquitoes, we climb the volcano, whose slopes form the island. Finca Magdalena is the biggest city in Madera and is 1 km away. The night costs $ 2 in a bedroom 1.50 for camping or to put up your hammock. You will definitely need insect repellent! It's a nice place, where you can eat well, same on each side, rice and beans. Just before arriving, you find the Zopilote hotel, for the same price, if you have absolutely nothing, you can work there for a few hours to pay your food and room.

The boat that takes us to Ometepe, we are increasingly charmed. Across the island and join the Finca Magdalena which we host, we must ... 3:00 bus! the island should be 30 km long to break everything. It does not feel on an island, but in the depths of a tropical forest, which could be the Brazilian Mato Grosso really short end of the world. An island in the middle of a lake in the middle of Nicaragua, in the middle of Central America, between two gigantic oceans, it feels very small. It was already dark when we arrived after a long walk with our bags in the mud ... The next day, after a short night full of mosquitoes, we start climbing the volcano whose slopes are the island. The Finca Magdalena is at the foot of the volcano Madera, 1 km away. Night to $ 2 or 1.5 dormitory in hammock / tent. Allow plenty of mosquito repellent. Nice place, you can eat too, as everywhere, rice and beans. Just before the Zopilote hotel also has good reputation, same price. For broke, you can even work a few hours a day to sleep for free.
