Feria de Paño Al Piso

On the city's sidewalks and streets, there's a display and sale of decorative baskets made of different kinds of plant fibres like straw, cane and wicker. On this avenue, you can see artisans working with different materials to make all sorts of items such as hats, flask carriers, coasters, bread baskets, trunks, baskets for various uses, parasols, fountain holders, and bottle holders. The naturally dyed twisted fibres that make animal figures, flowers and all kinds of guards to adorn the creations are the highlight. Wood artisans display their carved white or coloured "quebracho". They also carve faces that resemble "santiagueños" faces and characters.
