5 reviews of Park Federico García Lorca

The author's summer house

Federico García Lorca Park is located at the junction of three streets in the city of Granada, creating different entries from the streets: Virgen Blanca, Arabial and Camino de Purchil.

It has a large field of 71,500 square meters occupying the Huerta de San Vicente, where Federico García Lorca's family had a summer house between 1926 and 1936. Actually, the poet lived and wrote numerous works here until his arrest and later murder at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.

The park has different walks and paths, surrounded by a great variety of plant species: plum trees, pomegranate trees, sequoias, pine trees, olive trees, pear trees, maple trees, poplars, acacias, etc.

Awakening of the senses

Excellent

One autumn day, I woke up without plans and I decided to go out with my camera, the day was great for walking. The park was a good option, without noise, clean air and my memories. But when I got there I was looking for a place to sit down and rest and there it was, the lake, the birds, the ducks, some people giving them some bread. And on the other side silence, the warmth of the sun, the shadow of a red tree, in contrast with the green grass and the oranges of the deciduous leaves. The perfect place to stop time.
