Barbecue is a true emblem of the United States: there is no tradition quite so traditional and sacred as Sunday barbecue. This time-honored ritual is difficult to find in the big city, but New York has everything! We came across this place by accident, but we were happy despite the rather inauthentic look. To be fair, though, it is just a few steps away from Times Square!
Famous Dave's BBQ is run by Dave Dave Anderson, a man passionate about barbecue's holy trinity of "smoke, meat and sauce." His first restaurant was opened in 1994 in Hayward, Wisconsin. Today, Famous Dave's BBQ seats over 170 diners and his meat is famous throughout the country.
