Wild and untamed
From Callander, towards the north to Kilmahog, we found signs leading to these rapids and waterfalls in the middle of the Highlands. You can park the car opposite the river on the left. Once on foot, you have to walk about 5 minutes though a forest, where not only can you see the waterfall, you can almost touch the water splashed against the rocky bottom. The walk is not difficult, but the views are worthwhile, especially if you're quiet for a moment to listen to the surrounding nature. It seems incredible that this exists just meters from the town of Callander, where the river is calm and soothed.
