The Fairmont Empress hotel

L'hôtel The Empress fait partie de la chaîne Fairmont : Historiquement, ces établissements ont tous été bâtis par la compagnie ferroviaire "Canada Pacific" dont les lignes traversaient le Canada de l'Atlantique jusqu'à l'océan Pacifique. A chaque ville majeure, la compagnie avait cet hôtel pour les touristes fortunés. Ici à Victoria, l'hôtel fait face au port de plaisance et à la statue du Capitaine Cook qui commémore sa découverte de l'île de Vancouver lors de sa dernière expédition. Il est possible d'aller prendre le thé à l'hôtel (le très british "Afternoon Tea" avec petits gâteaux), mais lisez bien les prix avant de vous y engager !

The Empress Hotel is part of the Fairmont chain: Historically, these facilities were all built by the railway company "Canadian Pacific" whose lines crossed Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. In every major city, the company had this hotel for wealthy tourists. Here in Victoria, the hotel faces the harbor and the statue of Captain Cook, which commemorates the discovery of the island of Vancouver in his last expedition. It is possible to take tea at the hotel (the very British "Afternoon Tea" with cupcakes), but be sure to read the price before you commit!

Victoria é, de longe, o lugar mais bonito que já visitei. Para chegar lá precisei ir de ferry boat, e vi o pôr do sol mais lindo também, diante daquelas árvores típicas canadenses e milhares de pinheiros e montanhas. A cidade é incrivelmente romântica: o sol refletindo na água, as milhares de flores espalhadas pelas ruas... Sem contar na cortesia canadense. Não existe lugar melhor pra tirar fotos maravilhosas, passar uma tarde na beira do mar, em um parque em meio às flores, em um pub ou até mesmo nas feirinhas artesanais escondidas pelas ruas estreitas. Victoria é uma mistura de Paris, Londres e Vancouver –– e essa mistura só poderia culminar em algo maravilhoso.

Victoria, by far the most beautiful place already visited. To get there I had to go by ferry, and saw the most beautiful pr sun too, at those trees tpicas Canadians and thousands of pine trees and mountains. The incredibly romntica city: the sun reflecting on the water, the thousands of flowers scattered in the street ... Not to mention the Canadian courtesy. In no better place to take wonderful pictures, spend an afternoon at the seashore, in a park in the middle s flowers in a pub or at the same craft feirinhas hidden in the narrow streets. Victoria a mixture of Paris, London and Vancouver and this mixture could only culminate in something wonderful.
