Eyüp Cemetery

Eyüp Cemetery is one of Istanbul's most beautiful and certainly its most daunting. Graves are arranged from the base to the top of the hill overlooking Eyüp neighborhood. Going uphill along the winding road is a unique experience. Thousands of columns and tombs (the Muslims placed various inscriptions on them), cypresses, fog and the views of the Golden Horn. Contemplating a Muslim cemetery is already, in itself, a fascinating experience, they are so different from what we are used to seeing. But also it's an interesting environment.
