Zagora is the final village before reaching the Moroccan Sahara Desert by the old road which led to Mali. Formerly a major trading post, this is now a decaying town formed almost exclusively by hotels and agencies that organize desert trips. You can hire a tour here, in Ouarzazate, or Marrakech. If you really want to go into the desert I recommend you book a tour of 2+ nights. Due to time I only booked 1 night. Not bad, you ride camels, sleep in a tent in the desert and you see some of the desert but you just keep wanting something and don't get beyond the outskirts of Zagora. The 2 day option takes you further away.

Anyway, it's something to do.
