7 reviews of Ex-convent of San Francisco

The church has its charm.

The church of San Francisco was, in the past, a Franciscan convent, of which scarcely any remains. Today the church is used as the Cambados parish church. It's a simple baroque church that is fairly central and easy to find, you must climb stairs to access it. What stood out most for me was the large number of crosses, both in front and in the kind of venue where you are located. To the right of the church is a small gate that was formerly entered by monks but I could not access it. The interior is very nice and it has two chapels, what I liked best was an image of the Virgin. The back of the church is surrounded by trees and grass, I am always fascinated by churches that are surrounded by nature.

Stone cross typical of Galician culture

The parish church of San Francisco was part of a Franciscan convent back in the XVI century. It is fairly central, it is a simple work of Gothic structure with a single tower and is reached by climbing stairs. On the right side is what was the Convent and on the left side and at the back are beautifully maintained gardens and a stone bust. I took some photographs inside but only where light permitted (it was quite dark). Outside is a stone cross typical of Galician culture. In my opinion the most beautiful parts are the gardens and the interior.
