Estátua do Forcado

Feita em bronze e inaugurada a 25 de Junho de 1989, esta estátua feita pelo escultor Sergio Stikinni, pretende representar e homenagear a arte tauromáquica (se é que lhe podemos chamar arte... fica ao critério de cada um) e os forcados em particular. Este tipo de entretenimento é muito característico das gentes ribatejanas e da margem sul do tejo. presumo que por serem zonas onde era frequente andar-se muito a cavalo. É comum fazerem-se grandes festas e libertarem-se touros pelas ruas fora, sendo esta uma forma de se manterem tradições já muito muito antigas e que tornam este habito praticamente sagrado. Seja sob a forma de Touradas, Largadas ou corridas de touros, este gênero de aficção está sempre muito presente e enraizado na cultura ribatejana de um modo geral, e basta passearmos um pouco para percebermos o quanto: nas colchas alentejanas penduradas nas varandas ou paredes, nos fardos de palha, ou nos barretes verdes, há sempre alusões a campinos, forcados e touros. No que toca a esta estátua em particular, impressiona-me o movimento que foi captado pelo artista, naquilo que naturalmente chamaríamos uma "pega" (se não estou em erro!) que acontece quando o forcado, de pé, provoca o touro a vir ter consigo e o tenta dominar. Ao vivo consegue ser mais impressionante dado o tamanho da estátua e a sua imponência. Vale a pena espreitar se se for passear para aquela zona.
