Astronomy center or Anatomic Center
Estaquería is a ceremonial center, which has been in operation since the Paracas culture , until the disappearance of the wary (600 AD). It is 20 km from the city of Nazca, and 4 km west of Cahuachi, which is believed to have belonged. Both are near Nazca River Basin. It is made of a big platform which is arranged with nothing less than 240 posts, about 2 m high, and spaced 2 m apart, that would support a roof. To the west are the remains of a very important quadrangular with a central pole, which was the center of a circle, and a slopping roof of reeds and halter, cone-shaped (like a circus tent) , which have been rescued.
It has been the subject of many archaeological excavations and research and many hypotheses ascribe different uses. From an astronomical center, to an anatomical amphitheater. The most credible talk of a ceremonial center, adjacent to Cahuachi, which continued in operation, even after the fall. These archaeological excavations in "Estaquería" reveal the passage of a catastrophic flood of mud and sand, which swept the Nazca region at the end of the first millennium AD. C., and swept Cahuachi centuries earlier. One of the more interesting places to visit in the pampa of Nazca.
