Gallery & performance space in Lavapies
Espacio B is a relatively new art gallery, performance space, and screening room located amid the narrows streets of Madrid's vibrant Lavapies neighborhood. One's first impression is that Espacio B is truly a labor of love: the curators have put together a rapid line up of poetry readings, film screenings, and art exhibits, many accompanied by chats and introductions directly from the artists and curators themselves.
The space itself reflects the Espacio B's DIY spirit: folding chairs, Christmas lights, a casual and unpretentious cafe-like feel. The goal of the operation is to provide exposure for lesser-known but deserving contemporary artists and provide a meeting point for local enthusiasts of experimental culture, whether it be film, visual art, or performance.
