expanding the locks
The Esna lock was constructed to avoid the gap caused by the waterfalls. Boats and enter and then it's closed to let the water out to lower the boat, to raise the boat it's vice versa. Currently they are expanding the locks to speed up the passage of ships. On passing the lock you meet vendors in boats selling their products by throwing them from the ground to the rooms.
