Erskine Marykirk Church
This is on one of the central streets in the historic area of the city, next to the Old Jail. Its original name was Mary Kirk. The story goes that Ebenezer Erskine, minister of the parish church of Stirling, broke with the parish in local religious reform in the eighteenth century creating his own church, Presbyterian, more radical than the one he abandoned. In front of the original building is the monument of his tomb, in a neo-classical style.
