Close to a nice beach
Ensuès is a village which is close to the Marseille in the Provence of - Alpes-Cote d'Azur. It is a very convenient place as there is a nice beach near Marseille that doesn't take too long by car. There is also a network of regional buses can take you too but is a bit more complicated that way. Leaving from Marseille, you should not take more than 45 minutes. There are small coves and there the water is usually cold, but the natural environment is so beautiful. There is a large pine forest that gives shade, and many opportunities for hiking along the coast. Camping is not permitted as it causes a risk of fire.
The name probably comes from the Latin solium, which means small bathtub. Guns are a type of dolphin with occitan colors. There are some traces of human presence from Roman era, however, the current city was founded in the 15 th century. Originally they cultivated vine and produced olive oil, they also fished and people had goats and pigs. The beaches are very clean, and people come mostly from Marseille, meaning that there is no one at the weekends.
