Pedro Jareño
The Spanish Venice
If you arrive without knowing anything about its history or its idiosyncrasies, as I did, it is a surprise. The first thing that comes to mind is: Venice. Because, yes, it is the Spanish Venice. Located between urban and beach Castelló d'Empurias this development is astonishing. There are few streets but there are canals. There are hardly any cars parked in the houses (which are beautiful, some luxurious), but boats. It's like you've taken a plane and you landed in another place and at a different time. But no. There you are. In Girona. An amazing place.
