Freshwater
Els Estanys are freshwater lakes in the area of Almenara and Casablanca Beach within the Marjal de Almenara. The waters come from the Espadán Mountain aquifer. They’re home to a wide variety of fish, amphibians, and mollusks, as well as birds and plant life. They've recently uncovered Roman, Greek, and Iberian ruins in the area.
