Important site
The ruins of Elgin Cathedra are important evidence of the historical importance of the building. While visiting St. Andrews Cathedral, you might find yourself at the cathedral (or one of the most important medieval cathedrals, home of the bishops of Moray).
As the bishopric north of the Scottish Highlands, this cathedral was instrumental in the country's different religious reforms (do not forget that they ended the monastic and religious life of this cathedral was the 4th reforms). Thus, it was known as the "North Lantern". The cemetery sculptures (not all of them maintain the body of the figure depicted in the tomb) have been vital to establishing the recent historiography of the different personalities who played an important role in the history of this building.
