Elbphilharmonie

Hace muy poco, tan poco como apenas 6 meses Hamburgo se despertó con un nuevo símbolo en el perfil de su ciudad. En enero de 2017 quedó inaugurada oficialmente la Filarmónica del Elba, un edificio que rápidamente se convirtió en referente arquitectónico y musical a nivel mundial. Localizado en la punta de la Península de HafenCity, frente a los muelles y muy cerca de Speicherstadt que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco esta gigantesca ola de 110 metros de altura, construida en cristal con base de ladrillo se mimetiza con los grandes almacenes del puerto que dan sabor y color a la ciudad y los complementa a la perfección. Dos grandes salas de conciertos, la increíble Plaza que es el nuevo gran mirador de la ciudad y donde se puede tomar una copa u organizar reuniones de trabajo en un entorno único y privilegiado disfrutando de las mejores vistas de Hamburgo, y un hotel y varios pisos de apartamentos que se camuflan a ambos lados del edificio, conforman una estructura que simboliza el espíritu marítimo, cosmopolita y musical de la ciudad, un espíritu que mira hacia el futuro combinando la tradición con la modernidad, la creatividad con el respeto por el entorno histórico y sobre todo una ciudad elegante y rebosante de buen gusto. Ya desde un principio nos impresiona la entrada principal, con una rampa móvil que desde la calle nos sube hasta la Plaza, que debemos disfrutar no sólo en su interior, con sus espacios abiertos y luminosos, sino que debemos salir al exterior y pasarla, para tener una visión en 360 grados de la ciudad. El resto del edificio, como ya dije, lo forman las salas de concierto, las de reuniones y los exclusivos bares, por lo que normalmente no se abren al público, pero basta con nombrar el Great Hall con una capacidad de 2.100 espectadores y que constituye el corazón del edificio, o el hotel de 250 habitaciones y apartamentos que desde luego es quizá uno de los mas originales del mundo. Como anécdota debo decir que el Elbphilharmonie se levanta sobre los cimientos de un antiguo almacén de cacao y café, así que no nos extrañemos de que de vez en cuando nos llegue un agradable olor a estas exóticas bebidas que llegaron a Europa remontando el Elba para entrar en el continente y conquistarlo, tal y como este maravilloso y único edificio conquista nuestro corazón desde que aparece ante nuestros ojos.
