One of the best bars in the Mission
The Elbo Room is a low-lit cave, and one of the best bars in the Mission for those (like me) who dig cheap liquor and great music. The music ranged from the Stones to Curtis Mayfield to more obscure Northern Soul, with some 50's rock thrown in as glue. The place is dark, as you can see, and lit by red lights and the glow of vintage Pac-Man arcade games which double as drink tables. There's a pretty good craft beer selection on tap (try Anchor Steam, you're in SF after all) and liquor drinks at $4.50. Cool place to start the night!
