From 1978, the fantastic food of the Faixero Hotel combines tradition with innovative touches, without forgetting the town’s ancient recipes.
The have different menus: the tasting menu, with 4 appetizers, 15 second dishes and a dessert for 19.50 Euros; a menu with seasonal mushrooms or truffles, and a cheaper menu with 4 appetizers and 11 second dishes to choose from and dessert for 13.30 Euros.
I tried the Faixero menu, grated truffles over bread with good olive oil, beef carpaccio with parmesan, foie mousse with tomato jam, mushrooms with beans and garlic, impressive T-bone steaks.
The delicious duck magret or pig feet are some of the delicacies you can try here. The truffle tart is amazing. It is one of those places that you don’t expect to find in such a remote place.
