Bilbao's old town redevelopment is called "Eixample", and although there were several projects completed in the old town since 1801, none were finished until 1876. The designs are by architects Achúcarro, Alzola and Hoffmeyer. The streets that make up this neighbourhood are La Gran Vía, Plaza Elliptical, Indautxu, and Ercilla, Rekalde and Elcano.
