An ascent and descent down the volcano

The volcano is in Sacatepec Acatenango, is 1 of 3 volcanoes around the Antigua Guatemala. A Guatemalan author wrote a book called La Antigua Guatemala is the Prince's asteroid B612, since in the children's book Saint-Exupéry writes that the Prince's planet has 3 volcanoes, of which only 1 is still active, and more similarities with the former ... The Acatenango you can climb, it is about 7 hours, you can do with the help of guides, or by yourself, but starting early and with a clear day as the weather changes. Few people climb, so you will find fewer people if something happens, but there is no risk of assaults.

From the town below, it begins to rise, just as on the slopes of Volcan de Agua, and after 4 hours, the soil becomes sandy and the ascent becomes harder. Upload the Acatenango, as you can see from up top a great view of the Antigua Guatemala and surroundings as well as the activity of Fuego volcano. But the effort required is equivalent to raising the Water followed by the Pacaya! For sports people it is something to do, and the way down on the sandy parts is incredible.
