Eixample Esquerre

La parte de Eixamñple, un barrio moderno de Barcelona, se divide en dos. Está la parte izquierda y la derecha. Eixample significa en Catalán la ampliación de la ciudad. Es la parte que se empezó a construir en el siglo XVIII cuando el casco del barrio gótico empezó a ser demasiado pequeño para la gente de la ciudad. Entonces los burgueses hicieron construir nuevos edificios, equipados con gas y electricidad, toda la conveniencia de la modernidad, en la parte norte del barrio gótico. Lo que parte el Eixample es el Passeig de Gracia. Es la avenidad más ancha del barrio y también donde encontrarás las casas más bonitas, como la Pedrera y la casa Battló de Gaudi, y otras fabulosas casas de los grandes arquitectos de la época. Las calles más importantes de la parte izquierda son Muntaner, Aribau, Balmes, y la Gran Vía de Les Corts Catalanes. A parte de esta última, todas van desde la montaña hasta el mar. Las calles anchas permiten observar los monumentos, de esta zona harmoniosa, hay espacios verdes también y muchos restaurantes para salir

Vivo aquí desde que nací y es definitivamente mi parte favorita de Barcelona. La única pega que le pondría es el tráfico y por ende el ruido.

I live here since I was born and it is definitely my favorite part of Barcelona. The only oega that I would put is the traffic and therefore the noise. Otherwise very well connected and full of shops and supermarkets.
