Between the restaurants and shops in Canterbury's pretty High Street, the Eastbridge Hospital, one of the oldest buildings in the city, is barely recognizable from the outside. Dating back to medieval times, it can still be visited today (1 pound for adults, half price for children) and provides a fascinating insight into this period of history of the city. One can also admire an amazing painting of Christ from the early thirteenth century. It doesn't take long to see everything inside, and a quick visit here is highly recommended.
