Duomo Nuovo

Sulla via di Praga ad agosto 2013, sosta a Linz, in Austria, per una piccola visita alla città e per il pranzo Tra le altre cose viste, spicca sicuramente il Duomo Nuovo (o Duomo dell'Immacolata Concezione, o Duomo di Linz, o Mariä-Empfängnis-Dom o Neuer Dom, comunque da non confondere con il Duomo Vecchio, che è un'altra costruzione), una cattedrale in stile neogotico fondata nel 1855 dall'allora vescovo Franz-Josef Rudigier e costruita in stile neogotico. Attualmente è la chiesa cattolica maggiore della città e di tutta la diocesi, spodestando appunto il Duomo Vecchio, ora divenuto semplicemente una chiesa parrocchiale. Cosa mi ha colpito di più di quest'edificio? Le stupende vetrate - mi attraggono sempre!!! - alcune anche in stile moderno e non necessariamente a tema religioso.

Currently the Catholic Church more of the city and of the whole diocese, in fact ousting the old cathedral, now simply become a parish church. What struck me the most in this building? The beautiful stained glass windows - always attract me !!! - Some even in a modern and not necessarily a religious theme.
