Dune 45

Nos levantamos a las cinco de la mañana para llegar antes del amanecer a la duna 45, que se llama así porque se encuentra en el km. 45 de la carretera que se adentra en el Namib-Naukluft National Park, un lugar casi mágico, extraterrestre. Poco a poco los tonos grises se van transformando en un naranja intenso a medida que el sol ilumina las rojizas arenas de las dunas. Merece la pena el esfuerzo de subir por la cresta de la duna soportando el viento lateral que moldea el paisaje, un viento fresco todavía. El sol, todavía bajo en el horizonte, dibuja relieves en el paisaje que, en pocas horas, desaparecerán. Mientras desayunamos al pie de la duna el sol sigue subiendo en el horizonte dando lugar a intensos contrastes de color entre el suelo de tierra, la duna y el cielo, pero también entre los árboles secos, blanquecinos, y la arena dorada. Un espectáculo único que la naturaleza nos ofrece. A continuación seguimos la carretera hasta que finaliza en Sossusvlei, un lugar que aún nos depara nuevas sorpresas.

Son la cinco de la mañana y me encuentro ascendiendo en penosa procesión por la arista de la mítica duna 45. Mi cuerpo, agotado por los excesos de la noche anterior se arrastra lentamente tras la fila de turistas que me preceden. Mi mente azotada por el frescor de la mañana va reaccionando poco a poco espoleada por la belleza que me rodea. La Duna 45, cuya nomenclatura obedece a la necesidad de ubicar con exactitud y rapidez esta enorme montaña de arena sobre un mapa constituye uno de los atractivos turísticos más importantes del desierto “accesible” y es sin duda un lugar de “obligada” visita para todos aquellos que tenemos la suerte de recorrer el Parque Nacional Namib Naukluft. El ritual de ver amanecer apostado sobre la cima de la gigantesca Duna 45, eso si, en compañía de unos cuantos turistas equipados con trípodes, cámaras último modelo y vestuario digno de alpinistas de primer orden, supone un auténtico placer para todos los sentidos. Una vez superado el ligero escollo de la ascensión – la duna tiene una altura de 300 metros y caminar por la fina arena requiere un esfuerzo extra- , amparados todavía en la penumbra que precede al alba, buscamos un emplazamiento en la cima, cansados, nos dejamos caer pesadamente sobre la arena y súbitamente sentimos el frío de los granos de arena clavándose sobre nuestras piernas desnudas… El momento estelar en el que el solo hará su aparición aún no se ha producido, no importa, a mi izquierda unos japoneses, a mi derecha unos holandeses, todos solicitan que les hagas la foto de rigor para inmortalizar el momento…. Pasan los minutos y comienza a clarear, una enorme bola amarilla aparece en el horizonte, murmullos, tímidos aplausos, exclamaciones de admiración y emoción contenida... ¡Que maravilla! ¡Cuanta belleza! Durante unos instantes el horizonte se torna dorado, dejo correr el frío polvo de oro entre mis dedos, ¡soy inmensamente rico!...Pero el sueño dura tan sólo un instante ya que el sol se eleva a una velocidad de vértigo y la arena se tiñe de sangre, el óxido de hierro que cubre los finos granos de arena enrojece el paisaje. Han sido unos instantes breves pero de una intensidad tremenda, inolvidables, creo que todos deberíamos tener la oportunidad de contemplar un espectáculo como este al menos una vez en nuestras vidas….

Die Düne 45 liegt in der Namib-Wüste und ist eines der beliebtesten Postkartenmotive von Namibia. Es ist eine Bilderbuchdüne, die sich zudem bestens zum Besteigen eignet. Spektakulär ist ein Sonnenaufgang, den man vom zuvor erklommenen Dünenkamm aus beobachtet. Das Farbspiel ist unfassbar: Innerhalb weniger Minuten wechselt die Dünenfarbe von grau über gelb und orange hin zu knallrot! Kleines Manko: Die Düne ist mittlerweile so bekannt, dass sich hier ganztägig unzählige Touristen tummeln und man die Naturschönheit nicht in aller Ruhe genießen kann.

El parque nacional abre 45 minutos antes del amanecer y aunque apurados de tiempo, se consigue llegar. Hay que tener en cuenta que una vez en la base de la duna, tiene que subir por ella y cuesta un poco :) Una vez allí el espectáculo es maravilloso. La foto lo demuestra.

A Duna 45 é uma das principais atrações de Sossuvlei. Habitualmente, turistas sobem seus 170 metros de altura para apreciar o nascer do sol ou o pôr-do-sol admirando as outras centenas de dunas de areia vermelha do deserto do Namibe. Se for subir a duna lembre-se de trazer pelo menos 1 litro d'água por pessoa, pois é bastante cansativo e a temperatura pode esquentar radicalmente de uma momento ao outro.
