Castle that culminates in a love story
A castle that has shared the lives of the families of both the MacCleans and Duart, with a love story in which even the pope intervened, cursed by approving a matrimony between MacDonald Lord of the Isles and chief of the Macleans . The location of the castle is on a stone ridge in a kind of out of the ends of the island of Mull, lined with water, the connection with the island. It is a picturesque place with the landscape surrounding this construction. Perfectly preserved, although it is thought that its foundation dates back to the 12th or 13th century.
