Worth a visit
Every year in mid-July, the Omiste Modesto theatre holds a week-long celebration of theatre. Tickets for individual productions cost 2 bolivianos but a true drama lover can also buy a week-long pass. It's a competition, so the levels can be quite dramatically different between one performance and another. One strange thing, is that the locals in the audience don't hesitate to answer if they get a phone call during the show!
