Dr. Gray's General Hospital is the smallest hospital in the social security system in Scotland. It is located in Elgin and is part of the hospital Moray district.
But the hospital is also a landmark building which was founded by Dr. Gray between 1807 - 1819. Dr. Gray was an Elgin native and a surgeon who worked for many years in India (during the war). The foundation of this hospital was not founded directly by him, but by his family who followed the wishes of his will and used savings to serve the poor, needy and disadvantaged.
The hospital was renovated and modernized from 1992 to 1997 by the government to adapt to modern times and make it fully operational.
