On our journey through the old quarter of Ouled ech Cherif, which is the labyrinth of small alleys in the Medina, apart from seeing the typical architecture of ochre bricks with geometric patterns, we saw the peculiarity on the doors of the houses. Wooden doors that are decorated with iron knockers (each door had a different type) and which are very strange because: * The number of latches is variable and shows the number of people who live in the house. * The "reading" of these latches is: The upper two correspond to marriage (father and mother), the founders of the family, and below are those of the children.

* The strange thing is that each one of the knockers on the same door has a different sound. so, you know who is knocking, because there are no peepholes. (Of course, I do not know which one visitors use ...). After that, the journey through the gates of the medina left me even more curious.
