Luxury, history and landscapes
Dollar is a nice little town in the Clackmannanshire area right at the foot of the Ochil Hills and next to the River Devon. Historically, its location is important for several reasons. It was once a Pictish settlement but, more importantly, it was the seat of Clan Campbell, one of the most significant Scottish clans. Thanks to its link with this powerful family, Dollar has become the richest and prettiest town in the entire county of Clackmannanshire. Today it is a neat, pleasant town full of local and select retailers, and some of the most expensive and selective schools in the UK. The walk along the river from north to south is delightful.
