Mercado del Este

This mall is located in the center of Santander, at the corner of Calle Hernan Cortes and Calle Lepanto, near the Paseo de Pereda. Its name is due to the fact that it was once a food market (early 19th century), but was rebuilt in 2000 by the local authorities and remodeled to accommodate a small shopping center.

It comprises just one floor and is decorated in a gorgeously rustic wood style that respects the original structure. Inside there are several shops of various kinds (gifts, florists, furniture, shoes, jewelry, framing), as well as a tourist information office and several cafés where you can get a snack.
