Deira

This is another of the old districts in Dubai, east of the creek and Bur Dubai. We crossed from Bur Dubai to Deira in Adra, a typical local boat that transports people from one neighbourhood to another by the creek waters. In Deira the most interesting places to visit are its souks. They have the most important Spice Souks, the Gold Souks and Perfume Souks. The Gold Souk is the area with the greatest concentration of jewellers in Dubai and they specialise in gold. The Gold Souk is formed around 300 stores that have been around since ancient times and have caused Dubai to become known as the "City of Gold".
